Searching Fellow Travellers

We have two reasons for publishing this information. In the first place you can see if there is space available for people who want to share a trip with other people. Secondly, people who are interested in a private tour can see when we are available. With one full-time guide and one part-timer our availability is rather limited and we expect to get more requests for tours in 2010 than we are able to do.

FIXED DEPARTURES 2010

As we were quickly inundated with requests for private tours, we are only offering two fixed departures for 2010 - both are special North Peru tours.

November 20-December 12: Northern Circuit + Tumbes

with David Geale. Marañon, Abra Patricia, Mayo Valley, and Tumbesian specialties. Includes Tumbes Reserved Zone. Space for 4-8 people. A trip for serious birders, but slower-paced than the Classic North Peru below, avoiding most difficult hikes and basic accommodations. [Detailed itinerary and prices here]

December 26-January 7 : Classic Northern Peru

with Jan Kelchtermans. Dry Tumbesian Forest, Marañon Valley, focus on Abra Patricia/Pomacochas area. Space for 4-8 people. A trip for energetic dedicated birders; a fast-paced itinerary targeting such rarely-seen species as Long-whiskered Owlet and Pale-billed Antpitta as well as the usual North Peru specialties. June, first half: Iquitos

No space for other people.

July 9- 25: Central Peru (17 days)

A group of 4 people (Dutch + Belgian couple), not much interest to have more people.

July 26 Pelagic from Lima (in cooperation with Kolibri Exp.)

Already 8 participants. Space for 4 people more

July 28- August 9: Abra Malaga + Manu complete

A group of 6 people (Spanish, dedicated, young birders). No space left.

August 8 - 27: Lachay, A.Malaga, Manu, Tambopata

A group from Taiwan. No space for other participants

September 5-16: 10 days Manu + 2 days Abra Malaga

A group of 4 Dutch birders (dedicated) , perhaps interested in fellow travelers

September 17- 24: 8 days Central Peru

A group of 3-4 Dutch birders (dedicated) , perhaps in fellow travelers

September 25: Pelagic from Lima (in cooperation with Kolibri Exp.)

Already 5 participants. Space for 7 people more

September 18- 22 : 5 days near Lima (Eulalia, Marcap., Junin, Lachay)

Four birders (German, South African) are searching 2 people more

September 23-27 : Arequipa to Cusco (Chiguata, Mejia, Moquegua, lake Titicaca)

Four birders (German, South African ) are searching 2 people more

October 2- 13: Manu Complete (12 days)

Six people (Australian, German, South African )

October 13-22: North Peru (10 days)

Four people (Australian, Canadian) will do this trip starting in Chiclayo and ending in Tarapoto. Relaxed birding and some culture like the famous archeological site of Kuelap. No space left.

October 16-19: Abra Malaga/Machu Picchu

Space for 1 more dedicated birder.

October 20-29: Manu Road & foothills

Space for 1 more dedicated birder.

October 30 - November 07: Rio Las Piedras (Pto. Maldonado)

Space for up to 3 more dedicated birders.
