Northern Peru is home to a fascinating variety of enigmatic bird species, and we’ve crafted an exceptional birding trip for those who can’t commit to a three-week journey. This tour offers the chance to witness a remarkable selection of endemic and classic Neotropical birds.
Many of these species are endemic to the Tumbesian and Marañón regions. It’s a fantastic opportunity for birdwatchers eager to see species such as the Marvelous Spatuletail, Long-whiskered Owlet, Pale-billed Antpitta, and Ochre-fronted Antpitta, along with other unique endemics.
The tour will take you from the Pacific coast of northwestern Peru, where we’ll explore Carob woodlands and dry deciduous habitats, to the humid montane forests of Abra Patricia and Alto Nieva Protected Forest. We’ll also pass through the Marañón Canyon and venture into the tropical lowland rainforests of Peru. Our goal is to ensure you encounter all the target species with excellent views, as well as ample opportunities to photograph these incredible birds.
