Cancellation penalties and refunds are based on the following schedule:

  • Cancellations 100 days before departure will incur a cancellation fee of $800 per person.
  • Cancellations 70 days before departure will result in loss of deposit. However, if you wish to join another birding tour within the next 12 months, the cancellation fee will be $200 per person.
  • Cancellations 30 days before departure will result in the loss of 50% of the total tour price. However, if you want to join another birding tour in the next 12 months, the cancellation fee will be 25% of all monies paid per person.
  • If you cancel the tour within 30 days before the departure date, you must pay the full tour price. However, you can get a special discount if you join another tour in the next 12 months.

We will always take all possible measures to avoid canceling or changing the schedules of our tours.
Please note that there are occasions when emergencies arise, or situations beyond our control occur. Therefore, we reserve the right to cancel or change the itinerary of the tour. If it is necessary to cancel the tour, we will issue a full refund of all money paid by you to Tanager Tours.

If some clients cancel their participation, the tour may still run as planned, but with a surcharge, subject to written agreement by the clients.

Our fixed departures are scheduled according to our tour calendar. To guarantee the departure date, we need at least four participants. If there aren’t enough people for a fixed departure, we will inform our clients two months before the date if there are enough people registered to run the tour.

We can still operate the tour with only one person, but the client must coordinate with the management to cover a surcharge, depending on the number of people registered. Our goal is to avoid cancellations whenever possible.

Tanager Tours does everything possible to operate the tour as advertised. However, there are uncontrollable conditions such as weather or road conditions that may require changes in the itinerary.

Weather, flights, and other factors may be unpredictable or outside our control. If such conditions arise, we may be required to make changes to the itinerary. In such circumstances, we reserve the right to alter the itinerary as necessary.

Tanager Tours will always strive to offer an equivalent itinerary. However, we cannot be held responsible for any delays to your international flights or the consequences of airline cancellations or delays.

We have taken all possible precautions to ensure that the tours are properly arranged. However, Tanager Tours and its agents act only as intermediaries for the passengers regarding all transportation and hotels.

Therefore, we accept no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularities in connection with the services of hotels, ground agents, or any means of transport used in carrying out the tours, transporting passengers, or executing tour arrangements.

Tanager Tours and its agents cannot accept responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to flight delays, cancellations, illnesses, weather, strikes, war, acts of terrorism, quarantines, airport closures, or other causes beyond our control. All such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passenger, as tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated.

We reserve the right to send home, at their own expense, any person who does not conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the satisfactory operation of the tour. Tanager Tours will not be liable for any refund or compensation should this situation arise. Baggage is entirely at the owner’s risk.

Passport, visa, and health requirements for you and your party are the client’s responsibility. We strongly recommend obtaining travel and medical insurance to cover extra expenses or unavoidable cancellations due to:

  • Illness or accidents.
  • Emergency evacuation.
  • Costs incurred due to flight delays.
  • Personal baggage loss.
  • Schedule changes.
  • Missed connections.
  • Delays caused by bad weather, strikes, natural disasters, or other causes beyond our control.

We do not include the cost of international airfare in our tour prices.

Domestic flights in some fixed departures are not included, but we can assist you if needed.
